There have been spammers running rampant here lately and I do not want to turn away any new legitimate users and visitors to come, but if it continues I will have to close off self authentication and have reverted it back to admin authentication....
I have banned the entire IP range of the 2 posts that were done recently, so hopefully this will stop it from continuing and hopefully will also not turn into a spambot advertising heaven.
and if still continues, then looks as if this is all the memberhsip that there will be as I will not even allow anonymous guests to post in the guest board

My blog over at Gen just had the shit spammed out of it. I open it up and there's like 60 comments all selling viagra, cheap presciptions, home loans and sex starved teens in MY TOWN (who knew?) What a bunch of crap, took forever to delete it all. I had to go change my settings to only allow registered users to leave comments. Stupid ass spammers

I have to support the email at work and there are days where even with SPAM filtering of inbound mail people get their mail boxes filled with SPAM. I guess some people must actually buy Viagra from these SPAM offerings (who would?!?!) or they would have no need to send this stuff out . Still, these SPAM messages turn a good tool into a major headache. There need to be some real consequences to sending out SPAM. It should be treated as a serious crime. Maybe it would make sense to rehaul SMTP and make sure only registered email addresses can send on the Internet.

Shit, I'm getting spam in my website GUESTBOOKS now. For the last couple of months, that's all I keep seeing in there. Incidentally, some flamers from two years ago forced me to moderate all my guestbooks, and so, the shit never gets to see the light of day.

Nobody ever spams me. No one cares enough to visit. I need to find another nursing home, I guess.

I would like to THINK that we are all just that good in being about to keep him out knowing our way around protocols to prohibit his entry....but I cant give that much credit no matter how much Id like to, but that leaves the alternative of he either just gave up (unlikely)....or he died.
Morbid as that sounds, its quite possibly the most likely of the possibilities to have actually happened
